The starting point of our cycling route is located at the top of Kortos, next to the monastery of Lekatsas, a masterpiece in the heart of a forest of immense natural beauty.
Leaving the monastery behind, we descend a dirt road with a magnificent view of the sea horizon and we look to Preveza and Lefkada to the left, while Paxos and Antipaxos on the right, against the background of the clear blue waters of the Ionian Sea.
This route, on the west coast of mainland Greece, reveals the sandy beaches of the settlements of Riza, Lygia, Vrachos, Alonaki and Skala, which offer the country’s finest sunsets.
Then we ride on a smooth dirt road that descends through orchards and settlements to the sea and leads along the coast to creeks with crystal clear waters and connects the aforementioned settlements along the coast.
The beautiful Artholithia boasts stunning rocks that rise like sea gates, as well as the enchanting beaches of Alonaki and Skala with their turquoise waters that are joined together by a dirt road through a panoramic pine forest with steep cliffs.
The crossing continues to the bay of Odysseus and alongside the mythical river Acheron in a fertile field of corn until we reach the foothills of the famous Necromanteio.
At the centre of Kanali Beach next to the cafe ‘Deja vu’
It would be useful to have dry clothes with you for the end of the journey.
